LazyTown is a children’s television program that was originally created in Iceland, but has since gone on to become hugely popular around the world.
Since the show became popular in America and the UK it has picked up something of a cult following amongst the, how should we put it, ‘geek community’. We’ll say no more.
The show’s original creator is a man named Magnús Scheving, an aerobics champion who founded LazyTown Entertainment; he also appears in the show itself.
The premise of the program is to get kids to live active lifestyles (rather than sitting inside playing videogames, ironically), as well as make good choices and living well-rounded lifestyles.
Gaming website Cubed3 have discovered an article on Economist.com about the show, which mentions that talks are underway with Nintendo to release a LazyTown game for the Wii!
“Talks are under way with Nintendo to create a video game for its Wii console, which features a motion-sensitive controller.”
